On June 5, 2016, the day before the celebration of D-Day, the third monument of the Road of Peace was unveiled in Saint Aubin-sur-Mer, Normandy (Fr) by a delegation of French and German authorities. The monument was placed by the foundation Strasse des Friedens. They are creating a street of sculptures from Moscow to the Normandy coast. On this Road of Peace currently stands 500 works of art dedicated to the European peace.
The monument is a pyramide made by Leo Kornbrust (D) sculptor and founder of the foundation. The first monument was erected in Sankt Wendel residence of the foundation. The second monument is situated in Moscow. The pyramide contains text in different languages about Otto Freundlich who was the source of inspiration of the Road of Peace and murderd in Sobibor 1943.
